Main Applications:
1. Solvent
TIBP is an organic solvent with excellent performance, exhibiting good solubility and compatibility with a variety of organic compounds (such as resins, dyes, oils, rubbers, etc.). It has stable chemical properties and is non-flammable and non-explosive, so it is often used as a reaction solvent, extraction solvent, and dilution solvent. It can not only provide a stable dissolution environment for reactions to help improve reaction efficiency and product purity, but also separate and purify target substances in extraction processes, or adjust the viscosity and concentration of systems in formulations.
2. Defoamer
By reducing the surface tension of the system and destroying the stability of the bubble film, TIBP achieves the effects of rapid bubble breaking and inhibiting the generation of new bubbles. It has high defoaming efficiency, long foam-suppressing time, and good compatibility with most systems, and is not prone to causing defects such as shrinkage cavities and fish eyes. It is widely used in multiple fields:
Construction industry: Used for defoaming concrete and cement paste to eliminate internal bubbles, thereby improving strength and compactness.
Oilfield cementing: Applied for defoaming drilling fluids and cementing slurries to prevent bubbles from affecting cementing quality and downhole operation safety.
Printing and dyeing/textile/dye processing: Eliminates foam generated by slurries and dye liquors during production to prevent problems such as uneven dyeing and color defects.
Ink/coating: Removes bubbles produced during production and construction to ensure flat and smooth coatings.
3. Penetrant
TIBP has excellent penetration performance, which can quickly penetrate into the interior of substances or between interfaces, reducing the surface adhesion and internal tension of substances. In the printing and dyeing as well as textile industries, it can help dyes and auxiliaries penetrate into the interior of fibers faster and more evenly, improving dyeing and finishing effects. In fields such as construction and oilfields, it can also assist other auxiliaries (such as defoamers and retarders) in penetrating into the interior of pastes (concrete, cement paste, drilling fluid), enhancing the effect of the auxiliaries.
4. Plasticizer
As a phosphate plasticizer, TIBP has good compatibility with synthetic resins (such as polyvinyl chloride, polyurethane, epoxy resin, etc.) and cellulose-based plastics (such as nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, etc.). After being added, it can lower the glass transition temperature of resins, improve the flexibility, cold resistance, and processing fluidity of products, while also having a certain flame-retardant performance. This makes plastics easier to mold during processing and less likely to be brittle and cracked during use. It is suitable for the production of resins and cellulose-based plastic products that have certain requirements for flexibility and flame retardancy.
Solubility (in water/solvents):
1. Solubility in Organic Solvents
Easily soluble in most organic solvents, including alcohols (e.g., ethanol, isopropanol), ethers, ketones (e.g., acetone, methyl ethyl ketone), esters, aromatic hydrocarbons (e.g., benzene, toluene), and aliphatic hydrocarbons.
Also well soluble in hydrocarbon solvents such as petroleum ether and mineral oil, making it a typical oil-soluble compound.
2. Solubility in Water
Slightly soluble in water, with a solubility of approximately 0.1~0.3g/L at 25℃ (classified as slightly to poorly soluble).
Its aqueous solution is weakly acidic and can form emulsions with water (with the aid of emulsifiers).
3. Other Solubility Characteristics
Miscible with most organic polymer materials such as synthetic resins, rubbers, and greases.
